Two Watertown Houses Broken into While Residents were Home
A burglar broke into one West Side home and tried to get into another.

Watertown Police warn residents to lock their doors and windows after burglars targeted two West Side homes last week, both while the residents were home.
On March 19, a Main Street resident found that someone had cut a window screen and gotten into her home, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.
"A man went to check on his mother and discovered a door was open," Lawn said.

The next day, she was showing some landscapers around the house, Lawn said, when she noticed two screen windows had been pushed up, and someone had tried to pop a window lock on one door and broke a basement window trying to open it.
The burglar was not able to get into the home, Lawn said.
Police recommend people lock their doors and windows, and ask residents to call them if they see a suspicious person in their neighborhood, Lawn said.
