Watertown Police Investigating Attempted Sexual Assault on Summer Street
Woman reported being approached by man who tried to grab her as she walked down the street in the early hours of June 17.

Police received numerous 911 calls reporting a woman screaming for help after an attempted sexual assault in the area of Summer Street and Spring Street on June 17 at 3:21 a.m.
Officers located the woman who said had had just been dropped of by a cab at Mt. Auburn Street and Summer Street, and was walking down Summer Street when a red car drove up and the driver asked if she needed a ride, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.
The woman said no, and the car drove down the street, before stopping and parking. The driver got out and approached the woman and became aggressive, Lawn said.

“The man grabbed her by the shorts, and pulled her off the ground,” Lawn said. “She was able to break free and the man ran back to his vehicle and drove away.”
Police continue to investigate the incident, Lawn said.
