Watertown Police Log: April 2 to April 8
Hilltop Road home broken into, man stole laptops from Bentley University and man's iPhone stolen on Galen Street.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watertown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Arrest
April 2, 5:01 p.m.: A caller reported a driver who was possibly drunk, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. A man approached the caller while he was playing basketball at a park in Newton. The man asked if he could play and he seemed intoxicated. The man followed the 2005 Nissan Exterra to Pleasant Street. When police arrived they detected an odor of alcohol on the man’s breath and performed field sobriety tests. Officers found an open bottle of vodka in the man’s car. John P. McNamara, 48, of 57 Pleasant St. in Watertown, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

April 3, 9:37 a.m.: Police got a call about a woman driving a child with no seatbelt on, Lawn said. Police located the driver and found that she had an outstanding arrest warrant. Maria G. Herrera, 32, of 58 Gilbert St. in Watertown, was arrested on a warrant from Cambridge District Court for traffic offenses.
April 3, 4:25 p.m.: Police were called to Arsenal Street for a disturbance in front of the mall, Lawn said. Ashley Hamilton, 20, of 12 Redfield St. Apt. 1 in Dorchester, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

April 3, 8:10 p.m.: Police were called to Malden Street for a domestic disturbance, Lawn said. Linda L. Bossi, 52, of 20 Malden Street in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.
April 3, 8:33 p.m.: A man tried to take seven DVDs from by cutting off the plastic and putting them down his pants, Lawn said. They were worth $129.55. Larry Michael Hooper, 38, of 59 Calvary St. in Waltham, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting by concealment, a third offense.
April 4, 6:57 p.m.: Target security spotted a man putting assorted merchandise in a target bag, put it in a shopping carriage and tried to leave without paying. The items were worth $223.30. Joseph Adam Wilmot, 17, of 58 Captain Robert Cook Dr. in Needham, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting of items worth more than $100 by asportation.
April 4, 8:16 p.m.: Bentley University Police called Watertown Police because they had a warrant for a town resident who broke into a building and took laptop computers along with a woman, Lawn said. Jason M. Iannazzi, 33, of 77 Everett Ave. in Watertown, was arrested on a warrant out of Waltham District Court for breaking and entering, receiving stolen property over $250, trespassing, conspiracy and interfering with police.
April 5, 9:53 a.m.: Police got an 911 hang up from Morse Street, Lawn said. The suspect had taken the phone from the caller and threw it on the ground. Edward David Lopez, 19, of 145 Morse St. in Watertown, was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery, intimidating a witness and malicious destruction of property.
April 5, 8:46 p.m.: A shopper at was spotted taking the tags off items of clothing and tried to leave without paying, Lawn said. The clothes were worth $260.91. A 16-year-old boy from Waltham was arrested on a charge of shoplifting of items worth more than $100 by concealment.
April 6, 1:13 p.m.: Police were called to Arlington Street and Elm Street after a woman reported a man scratched her car, Lawn said. The woman said she saw the man waiting to cross the street, and she motioned for him to cross. The man ran up to her car and began yelling at her, so she told him to go away. The man then allegedly took out a coin and scratched the car. James Matthew Hook, 44, of 15 Parker Road in Arlington, was arrested on a charge of malicious destruction of property worth more than $250.
April 6, 5:27 p.m.: A driver reported that he was rear ended by a black Honda Accord, and the woman got out and gave him her license but when he said he had called police she grabbed it and took off, Lawn said. Police located the woman and detected an odor of alcohol on her breath. Erin M. McLaughlin, 44, of 44 Chauncey St. in Watertown, was arrested for leaving the scene of property damage and driving under the influence of alcohol.
April 6, 11:35 p.m.: An officer spotted a man driving about 45 mph down Main Street and pulled the driver over, Lawn said. The driver had an odor of alcohol on his breath. Field sobriety tests were performed. Dennis A. Morel, 22, of 71 Middlesex Road Apt. 2 in Waltham, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding.
April 7, 5:40 a.m.: Police were called to School Street for an argument between a man and a woman, and when police arrived they found the man had two arrest warrants, Lawn said. Ryan J. Folan, 23, of 16 Victory Road Apt. 3 in Dorchester, was arrested on a warrant from Wrentham District Court for disorderly conduct and malicious destruction of property and one from Dorchester District Court for traffic offenses.
April 7, 12:27 p.m.: A shoplifter was caught by Target security taking items of clothing in a plastic Target bag and try to leave without paying, Lawn said. The items were worth $278.84. Mitchell A. Harrison, 22, of 11 Patten St. Apt. 1F in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of larceny of items worth more than $250.
Incidents
April 2, 12:14 p.m.: A woman knocked the car next to her with her door when parking at a garage on Arsenal Street, Lawn said. The car had a person inside, and the driver apologized. When she returned to her car after work she found a long scratch on the driver’s side door of her 2006 Toyota 4Runner.
April 4, 2:42 p.m.: A Hilltop Road resident left home at 9 a.m. and when she got back at 2:30 p.m. she found the rear door was open and the window was broken, Lawn said. Her drawers had been rummaged through and a mini Netbook was missing.
April 4, 5:14 p.m.: A student left his viola in the school’s music room in the morning and when he came back it was gone, Lawn said. The viola is worth $800.
April 5, 8:03 p.m.: A worker at the Custom Foto Art kiosk in the had his laptop stolen, Lawn said. He told police he believes it was taken when he was dealing with two female customers.
April 5, 9:22 p.m.: A man walking down Galen Street was when two black males walked up to him and stole his iPhone, Lawn said. One of the suspects wore a white hooded sweatshirt and one wore a black hoody.
April 6, 4:28 p.m.: An Irving Street resident parked her Lexus in his driveway at 9 p.m. the night before and when she came out at 1:30 p.m. he found the contents of the center console had been rummaged through and a Garmin GPS was taken, Lawn said. There wee no signs of forced entry.
April 7, 9:11 a.m.: The owner of found that someone tried to pry open the front door, but could not get in, Lawn said.
April 7, 11:05 a.m.: A Theurer Park resident got confirmation that a packaged was delivered, but when he went to get it the package was gone, Lawn said. The package contained five basketballs.
April 8, 2:01 p.m.: A Chapman Street resident parked his 2004 Honda Civic the previous night and when he went out later it was gone, Lawn said.
April 8, 5:53 p.m.: A number of cars parked in a lot on Carey Avenue were dented and dinged by rocks thrown by someone above the parking lot on Robert Ford Road, Lawn said. A 2011 Toyota Venza, a 2011 Honda Civic and a 2006 Chevy Cobalt were damaged.
