Watertown Police Log: April 9 to April 15
Teens caught taking items from cars in the Watertown Mall lot, stolen truck recovered and man arrested on OUI charge.

April 10, 5:29 p.m.: Police were called to Green Street for a couple people having an argument, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. A woman involved in the argument had two arrest warrants in her name. Kathryn Golden, 20, of 9 Bradley Road in Belmont, was arrested on two warrants out of Fall River District Court, both for larceny.
April 12, 6:56 a.m.: Watertown police knew a man from Arsenal Street had an outstanding warrant, Lawn said. Avetis Chekmeyan, 18, of 221 Arsenal St. Apt. 2 in Watertown, was arrested on a warrant from Waltham District Court for driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of personal injury.

April 12, 9:50 a.m.: A man from Belmont allegedly made threats against someone in Watertown, Lawn said. Wayne Blackwell, 31, of 9 Bradley Road in Belmont, was arrested on two warrants from Waltham District Court for making threats.
April 14, 1:47 a.m.: An officer patrolling on Mt. Auburn Street spotted a 2004 Infiniti stopped at red light at Walnut Street and when the light turned green it stayed there for 30 seconds and then made sudden jerk forward, Lawn said. The officer followed the vehicle and saw it wave from side to side, crossed the yellow line and pulled the driver over. The officer detected a strong odor of alcohol on the driver breath, performed field sobriety tests and arrested the driver. Saurabh S. Shende, 30, of 168 Walnut St. Apt. 2 in Watertown, faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, marked lanes violation and failing to signal.
April 15, 9:44 a.m.: Home Depot security called police after a man who had previously made fraudulent returns was back trying to make a return, Lawn said. The man had two outstanding warrants. Athanasios George Kallianiotis was arrested on two warrants out of Waltham District Court, both for larceny.
Incidents
April 9, 7:25 a.m.: An Edenfield Avenue resident reported that a truck had been parked on the street for a couple days and it had no license plates attached, Lawn said. Police discovered the truck had been stolen on April 6 from a tow lot in Clinton, Mass.
April 10, 12:25 a.m.: The owner of a 2003 Mercedes parked her car the night before and came out to find fresh scratches on the hood, trunk and both driver’s-side doors, Lawn said.
April 11, 6:09 p.m.: Two teens were seen looking into vehicles in the Watertown Mall, Lawn said. Officers stopped the two boys and found a GPS device and an iPod in the bag of one of the teens. The items had been taken from a vehicle parked in front of Best Buy on April 9. The two youths admitted to breaking into the car, and the 15 year old males from Watertown will be summonsed to appear in Waltham District Court for breaking and entering into a motor vehicle..
April 12, 12:18 p.m.: A Perkins School for the Blind employee called police to report that copper downspouts had been stolen from the Howe Building, Lawn said. The employee had found several downspouts piled up in back of the building and some missing. A suspicious blue pickup truck has been seen in the early morning hours on the campus.
April 12, 1:01 p.m.: An employee at Wet Seal in the Arsenal Mall reported that a customer had come in, picked up her wallet, taken $35 cash and walked out of the store, Lawn said.The suspect was described as a black female, 5-foot-8, wearing blue jeans and a pink hooded sweatshirt and carrying a large black bag.
April 12, 11:05 p.m.: A 2011 Mercedes was parked in front of a home on Dexter Avenue was keyed the entire driver’s side of the vehicle, Lawn said.
April 15, 10:53 a.m.: The owner fo a 2009 Toyota Corolla parked in front of her home on Bennett Road at 6 p.m. the day before and came out at 10:30 a.m. and found white paste on the side door and roof of her car, Lawn said. Whatever the substance was, it washed off.
April 15, 1:30 p.m.: Someone scratched the passenger side of a 2012 Honda Accord that was parked on School Street, Lawn said.
April 15, 5:43 p.m.: A man parked his van in his driveway on Main Street and came out the next morning and discovered a 24-foot ladder was stolen from the top of his van, Lawn said. The ladder is worth $200.
