Watertown Police Log: Dec. 26 to Jan. 1

Drunk cab passenger arrested, home broken into and a man given the switcheroo when he bought a video camera.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watertown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

Dec. 26, 2:09 a.m.: An officer pulled over a car on Mt. Auburn Street for having a headlight out and discovered the driver had an outstanding arrest warrant and her license had been suspeded, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. Diane M. Wetherall, 54, of 22 Falmouth Road in Watertown, was arrested on charges of unlicensed driving, vehicle equipment violation and a warrant from Waltham District Court for traffic offenses.

Dec. 27, 5:14 p.m.: A car ran a stop sign on Boylston Street and the officer discovered the driver had a suspended license, Lawn said. Nektaria Willis, 32, of 73 Edenfield Ave. in Watertown, was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license and failing to stop.

Dec. 28, 3:38 p.m.: Police were called to Philip Darch Road for a domestic disturbance, Lawn said. Mark D. Botelho, 37, of 70 Philip Darch Road, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Dec. 30, 1:48 a.m.: A taxi driver came to the police station because he had two passengers who were extremely intoxicated, Lawn said. When they got there both were placed into protective custody and police discovered one had arrest warrants in his name. Wayne S. Tremblay, 50, of 96 College Ave. in Arlington, was arrested on two warrants from Concord District Court, one for driving under the influence of alcohol and one for traffic violations.

 

Incidents

Dec. 26, 10:49 p.m.: A woman had her purse stolen while she was shopping at Target, Lawn said. She told police she had it in her shopping cart under some items, and she left the cart briefly. When she returned it was missing. It contained four credit cards, her ID and a gift card.

Dec. 29, 10:05 a.m.: A Partridge Street resident reported that two packages that had been delivered on Dec. 22 had been stolen from her front stairs, Lawn said. One box contained 8 DVDs and the other had an HD box.

Dec. 29, 2:31 p.m.: A Templeton Parkway resident came back from a trip and discovered someone had broken into her home, Lawn said. The kitchen door had been broken and the door to the basement was also broken. A metal box containing about 1,000 foreign coins, 15 silver dollars and assorted jewelry was taken.

Dec. 30, 12:46 p.m.: An employee at AAA Auto Clinic on Main Street bought a video camera for $100 from a man who stopped at the gas station. He discovered that the man had switched cameras while he was not looking, Lawn said.

Jan. 1, 5:52 p.m.: An man came into Seven Fox at the Arsenal Mall and tried to return a jacket. When he was told the store only gives store credit the man said, “If that’s the way you want to play it,” and grabbed a hooded sweatshirt and left the store, Lawn said. He still had the jacket, too. The suspect was described as a black man, 6-feet tall and wearing black clothing.
