Watertown Police Log: Dec. 5 to Dec. 11

Generators stolen, leaf blowers taken from St. Pat's Cemetery and man takes cell phone charger from CVS.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watertown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

Dec. 7, 7:20 p.m.: Police got an arrest warrant for a Watertown man because of an incident earlier in the day, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. Mohamed Nabile El Baz, 52, of 210 Belmont St. Apt. 5 in Watertown, turned himself into police, and faces charges of domestic assault and battery.

Dec. 5, 8:12 p.m.: A Lexington Street resident came to the Police Station to report that two packages had been stolen from her front porch, Lawn said. One was delivered in late July or early August, and one in early November. The delivery companies said the packages were left there, but she never got them. 

Dec. 7, 12:20 a.m.: A man came into CVS on Main Street and asked to look at a cell phone charger from a locked case, and then left the store without paying, Lawn said.  The man is described as a white male, 5-foot-10, wearing Red Sox baseball hat, dark black clothing.

Dec. 8, 6:27 a.m.: Employees at Newton Roofing Co. on Howard Street discovered that someone broke into four company vehicles, stole two generators worth $1,500 each, power tools and the keys to the vehicles, Lawn said. Police are investigating.

Dec. 8, 11:35 a.m.: Someone broke into the maintenance garage at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Lawn said. Sometime overnight, the lock was cut lock off the door to the garage, and the intruder took two leaf blowers, worth a combined $1,000.

Dec. 9, 12:45 a.m.: A resident discovered several items had been taken from his apartment on Ralph Piteri Terrace, including a laptop computer, a Sony PlayStation, headphones and a gold chain, Lawn said. There were no signs of forced entry.

Dec. 9, 12:55 p.m.: A man working at an office on the third floor of a building on Coolidge Hill Road heard his car alarm go off, and when he went to check he found that the driver’s side window had been smashed, Lawn said. An envelope with an undetermined amount of cash inside was taken.

Dec. 11, 10:05 p.m.: Someone got into Ryan Skating Arena and broke down the wooden door to the manager’s office, Lawn said. Nothing was reported missing.
