Watertown Police Log: Feb. 5 to Feb. 11

Target employee arrested for scheme of returning electronics for gift cards and a man caught stealing bike.

Feb. 6, 4:08 p.m.: A man was spotted cutting the lock off a bicycle on the Watertown Square delta, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. Police officers found a man who had a pair of wire cutters. Andre H. Fauntleroy, 18, of 77 Warren St. in Brighton, was arrested on charges of larceny of property worth over $250 and possession of a burglarious instrument.

Feb. 7, 8:48 a.m.: Police were called to Philip Darch Road for a disturbance, Lawn said, and they discovered the suspect had a warrant out for his arrest. Joseph Scott Jr., 28, of 67 Philip Darch Road in Watertown, was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery and a warrant from Waltham District Court for traffic offenses.

Feb. 9, 10:14 p.m.: Police were called to Coolidge Avenue on a report of a disturbance, Lawn said. The suspect allegedly threatened an older woman with a knife and rubbed up against her. Jamshid Hamidi, 54, of 151 Coolidge Ave. Apt. 101 in Watertown, was arrested on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60, domestic assault and battery on a person over 60, and indecent assault and battery on a person over 14.

Feb. 10, 4:29 p.m.: An employee of the Radio Shack kiosk in Target was caught returning cell phones, iPods and other electronics to Target and getting gift cards as a refund and keeping them for himself, Lawn said. He had returned about $4,100 worth of items. Christopher J. Britt, 28, of 15 Great Kame in Plymouth, was arrested on a charge of larceny of over $250 by a single scheme.

Feb. 10, 7:37 p.m.: Police were called to Pleasant Street for a disturbance, Lawn said. Feng Pai, 53, of 555 Pleasant St. Apt. 5210 in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Feb. 11, 12:09 a.m.: Police were called to Mt. Auburn Street for a disturbance and the found the suspect had a warrant out for his arrest, Lawn said. Dean E. Kenny, 46, of 805 Mt. Auburn St. Apt. 18 in Watertown, was arrested on a warrant from Concord District Court for probation violations.

 

Incidents

Feb. 6, 9:51 a.m.: Security at Home Depot stopped a shoplifter who had concealed a box of screws and a grout rake, worth $43 total, in his waistband and tried to leave the store, Lawn said. The 24-year-old Everett man will be summonsed to Waltham District Court for shoplifting items worth less than $100.

Feb. 6, 10:31 a.m.: Someone kicked in the front grill of a 2008 Mazda, Lawn said.

Feb. 6, 4:34 p.m.: A car was towed from Jensen Road and the tow company found out the car was listed as stolen from Cambridge on Dec. 20, Lawn said.

Feb. 10, 11:27 a.m.: Sometime between Feb. 8 and Feb. 10, someone broke into a Keenan Street home and stole a small amount of cash, Lawn said. A back window had been broken and the screen was cut.
