Watertown Police Log: Jan. 16 to Jan. 22

Two homes broken into, money taken from a locker at the high school and an iPad was stolen from the Arsenal Mall parking lot.

Jan 16, 11:15 p.m.: Police were called to Coolidge Avenue for a disturbance, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. Amal Taouri, 30, of 131 Coolidge Ave. Apt. 228 in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Jan. 17, 7:24 p.m.: An officer on patrol on Belmont Street spotted a man driving who was known to have a suspended license, Lawn said. Dean George Wolfe, 38, of 67 Pierce Road in Watertown was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license - a subsequent offense.

Jan. 20, 12:13 a.m.: Police were called to Winsor Avenue for a disturbance, Lawn said. Thomas Chagias, 41, of 165 Winsor Ave. in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of assault and battery on a person over 60 years of age.

Jan. 20, 6:36 p.m.: Police arrested Foomjai A. Pollawit, 31, of 75 Long Pond Road in Tyngsboro, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

 

Incidents

Jan. 17, 10:34 a.m.: The school resource officer was approached by a student at Watertown High School who said someone took $40 from her locker on Jan. 11, Lawn said. The money was in a coat inside the unlocked locker.

Jan. 18, 8:55 a.m.: The glass window in the door of the AT&T store on Mt. Auburn Street was broken – with the glass “spidered” – but no entry was gained, Lawn said.

Jan. 19, 10:59 p.m.: A man discovered his iPad was missing from his briefcase and he told police he believed it was taken from his car when he parked behind Home Depot at the Arsenal Mall, Lawn said. The briefcase was left in an unlocked car.

Jan. 19, 7:43 p.m.: A package was delivered to an apartment building on Riverside Street at 1:46 p.m., but when the resident got home the package was missing, Lawn said. The package contained a sweatshirt.

Jan. 20, 1:31 a.m.: A Chester Street resident reported someone broke into his home and took cash, an Xbox game console and personal items, Lawn said.

Sept. 22, 5:52 p.m.: A resident who returned from a trip found that the front door of her Watertown Street home was damaged and she was missing a number of pieces of jewelry, Lawn said.
