Watertown Police Log: Jan. 23 to Jan. 29

Engagement ring stolen from car, Chinese money missing and five men steal $2,100 worth of bras and panties.

Jan. 25, 5:58 p.m.: Police were called to Clarendon Street for a disturbance, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. Manir Haidara, 24, of 10 Clarendon St. Apt. 2 in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Jan. 26, 10:41 p.m.: Police were called to Morse Street for a disturbance and when the arrived they discovered a 16-year-old boy at the home had a warrant, Lawn said. The juvenile was arrested on a probation warrant.

Jan. 27, 8:03 p.m.: An officer on patrol on Arlington Street near Mt. Auburn Street saw a Volkswagen following very closely behind the car in front, and when the officer pulled the car over he found the driver did not have a license, Lawn said. Victor L. Almeida, 31, of 44 Cottage St. in Watertown, was arrested on charges of unlicensed driving and following too closely.

Jan. 27, 8:42 p.m.: An officer patrolling on Mt. Auburn St. near School Street ran the registration of a car and found the driver had an outstanding warrant, Lawn said. James A. Carroll, 25, of 69 Oak Square Ave. Apt. 2 in Brighton, was arrested on a warrant from Dudley District Court for traffic violations.

Jan. 27, 8:53 p.m.: An officer patrolling on Galen Street ran the registration of a car and found the owner had a suspended license, Lawn said. Frank M. Romani, 40, of 7 Campbell Road in Framingham, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license, a subsequent offense.

Jan. 29, 12:23 p.m.: Police were called to Salisbury Road for a disturbance, Lawn said. Esther Dasilva, 29, of 300 Main St. Apt. 108 in Woburn, was arrested on two counts of domestic assault and battery.

 

Incidents

Jan. 23, 10:28 a.m.: A woman dropped off her car to be serviced at the Volkswagen of Boston dealership on North Beacon Street, and when she picked it up she discovered an engagement ring was missing from the glove compartment, Lawn said. It is worth $738.

Jan. 23, 8:38 p.m.: An employee at Miller’s Ale House put his iPhone in his locker and when he checked back late it was gone, Lawn said.

Jan. 25, 7:58 a.m.: The owners of Casa Mara Beauty on Main Street discovered someone put crazy glue in the lock of the front door, Lawn said.

Jan. 25, 9:13 a.m.: A Mt. Auburn Street-resident reported that 10,000 Renminba – Chinese currency – was taken from a cabinet, Lawn said.

Jan. 27, 4:11 p.m.: Five men took $2,100 worth of bras and panties from Victoria’s Secret at the Arsenal Mall, and they ran out of the mall, Lawn said. The suspects were described as black males in their teens and early 20s.

Jan. 28, 11:36 a.m.: A bicycle was stolen from the back patio of a home on Morse Street, Lawn said. The bike is a white GT Sport mountain bike, with black lettering worth $400.

Jan. 29, 6:13 p.m.: A man came into the 7-Eleven on Mt. Auburn Street in Coolidge Square and took a pair of headphones worth $9.99 off the rack and left the store without paying, Lawn said. Employees said the man, described as a black male in his early 20s, had done similar things in the past.
