Watertown Police Log: May 21 to May 27

Shirtless man arrested on OUI charge, packages stolen and cars broken into.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watertown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

May 23, 12:38 p.m.: A shoplifter was caught allegedly putting to razors under his jacket at on Main Street and tried to leave the store, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. He also had a warrant in his name. The razors were worth $32.48. Matthew J. Conti, 31, of 53 Pleasant St. First Floor in Watertown, was arrested on a warrant from Waltham District Court for failing to pay court fines.

May 24, 10:46 p.m.: Police were alerted that suspect known to have a warrant in her name was at a home on Waverly Avenue, Lawn said. Gina Baccari, 29, of 111 Tremont Street in Boston was a arrested on a probation warrant from Brighton District Court.

May 25, 5:48 p.m.: A man went to and tried to put a DeWalt power washer in a cart and tried to return it using a receipt for an item worth $12, Lawn said. Carl E. West, 49, of 1593 Dorchester Ave. Apt. 1 in Boston, was arrested on a charge of larceny over $250.

May 25, 3:57 p.m.: Police were called to Robert Ford Road for a domestic disturbance, Lawn said. Andrew M. Sullo, 23, of 61 Robert Ford Road In Watertown, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

May 26, 3:07 a.m.: Police were called to Waverly Avenue for a man without a shirt outside the house causing a disturbance, who then got into a Toyota Corolla and drove off with no lights on, Lawn said. Officers stopped the car on Fitchburg Street and detected a strong odor of alcohol. Sean P. Mahoney, 21, of 9 Jewett St. in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

May 26, 3:53 p.m.: Police were called to Galen Street for a domestic disturbance, Lawn said. Sharifah Nakalema Kasozi, 22, of 105 Galen St. in Watertown, was arrested on two counts of domestic assault and battery. Also, a 21-year-old woman will be summonsed, and a 36-year-old woman will both be summonsed to Waltham District Court on charges of domestic assault and battery.

 

Incidents

May 21, 9:49 a.m.: A Pearl Street resident reported that someone took a “No Walmart” sign off her lawn, Lawn said.

May 23, 12:07 p.m.: A Main Street resident discovered someone shattered the passenger side window of his 2006 Honda Accord, Lawn said. Nothing appeared to be missing.

May 23, 12:46 p.m.: security spotted a woman take merchandise worth a total of $208.46 and put it in a backpack and attempted to leave the store, Lawn said. A 51-year-old Waltham woman will be summonsed to Waltham District Court for shoplifting.

May 23, 6:41 p.m.: A Riverside Street resident came home and fond a package on that had been opened and a sweater and a dress were taken, Lawn said.

May 24, 9:21 a.m.: A Nyack Street resident ordered a Sony camcorder and sunglasses, but they never arrived, Lawn said. When he called the vendor, they said the items were delivered on April 14 by the U.S. Postal Service, but he never got it.

May 26, 10:40 p.m.: A Hancock Street resident came out and discovered someone had rummaged through the glove compartment and center console of the resident’s car, Lawn said. Nothing appeared to be missing.

May 27, 11:11 a.m.: Overnight, someone went into a 2010 Jeep parked in the driveway of a Springfield Street home, Lawn said. A wallet with a debit card and personal items was taken. Also, someone went into a 2002 Dodge and went through the car.

May 27, 12:23 p.m.: Someone went into a 2002 Toyota parked on Fitchburg Street and went through the center console, but nothing appeared to be missing, Lawn said.
