Watertown Police Log: Oct.10 to Oct. 16

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watertown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

Oct. 14, 4:12 p.m.: Police arrested a man wanted by Belmont Police, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. John P. McNamara, 48, of 57 Pleasant St. in Watertown, was arrested for violating a restraining order.

Oct. 16, 6:39 p.m.: Police were called to Spring Street for a domestic disturbance, Lawn said. A 15-year-old juvenile male was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Oct. 16, 8:55 p.m.: Police responded to a domestic disturbance call on Coolidge Avenue, Lawn said. Walid El-Sayed, 50, of 131 Coolidge Avenue Apt. 228 in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Incidents

Oct. 10, 2:01 a.m.: A Williams Street resident came home at 1:30 a.m. to find that the alarm system had been ripped off the wall and someone had rummaged through her home, Lawn said. She was missing a laptop computer, an iPod Nano, a digital picture frame and assorted jewelry and purses.

Oct. 11, 2:39 p.m.: The owner of the Perfume Outlet kiosk at the Arsenal Mall discovered that someone took a bottle of perfume worth $60, Lawn said.

Oct. 13, 6:34 p.m.: An Edenfield Avenue resident discovered that someone took an iPad 2 from his car over the past two months, Lawn said. He used it for work, and was not sure when or where it was stolen.

Oct. 13, 8:39 p.m.: Worcester Street residents said someone broke into their home and took a MacPro Notebook computer worth $2,500, another laptop worth $400, assorted jewelry and coins, Lawn said. There were no signs of forced entry. People soliciting for Kirby Cleaning has been seen going door to door in the area that day, and police are looking to see if there was a link.

Oct. 14, 1:41 p.m.: Four power tools were stolen from a rental property on Pleasant Street, Lawn said. There were no signs of forced entry.

Oct. 16, 1:18 p.m.: The owner of a 1997 Volkswagen parked at the Mount Auburn Tennis Club found that someone went into his unlocked car and took a wallet and a GPS device, Lawn said. The wallet contained cash, bank cards and gift cards.

Oct. 16, 7:30 p.m.: A Maple Street resident found that someone had broken into his room, broke a window and left the room in disarray, Lawn said. Missing were two laptops and other personal items. The man suspected his friend’s brother might have been the culprit and he found some of the items at his friend’s house. Watertown Police will get a warrant for a 36-year-old Watertown man, Lawn said.
