Watertown Police Warn Residents To Lock Their Cars

A series of car break-ins urged the department to post an announcement on its Facebook page warning residents.

WATERTOWN, MA — Watertown police are reminding residents to lock their cars before they head inside, even if the car is just sitting in the driveway overnight. The department posted a message on it's Facebook page after a string of car break-ins.

Police said over the weekend several cars were broken into and rummaged through, although the department did not specify if anything was stolen. Police said all of the cars affected were left unlocked.

To be extra cautious, police also suggested taking any valuables and belongings with you when you head out of the car.
