Watertown Resident to Shave Head at Gillette One Mission Buzz Off June 4
Watertown Resident will shave head for kids cancer programs through One Mission Charity

Watertown Resident Mike Scafidi will join New England tight end Rob Gronkowski, as well as hundreds of men, women and children who have chosen to shave their heads in solidarity and to raise for pediatric cancer programs on Sunday, June 4. All money raised will go to programs for kids fighting cancer at Boston Children’s Hospital, The Jimmy Fund Clinic at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
Mike has agreed to shave his head at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, at the 8th Annual Buzz Off for Kids with Cancer. This event will raise awareness and funds for programs to make life more livable for children battling pediatric cancer.
Mike is actively seeking donations to support his heroic efforts by raising as much money as he can.

“I started participating in the Buzz Off in 2012, after hearing a radio ad. I've always felt a calling to serve others, and this seemed like a great cause to get behind. Cancer is a terrible disease, and it is an awful thing for anybody to have to go through, but I couldn't even imagine facing this challenge as a child, or being a family member watching a child suffer through it, said Scafidi. “After participating, and hearing the stories people shared at the event, I knew I needed to continue my participation and support of this organization every year, and have been doing so ever since.”

ABOUT THE BUZZ OFF
Proceeds from the Gillette Buzz Off event will benefit the One Mission Resource Room at Boston Children’s Hospital for kids and families fighting cancer. Additionally, funds will support One Mission programs at the Jimmy Fund Clinic at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. Unlike other head-shaving fundraising events that fund long term solutions like cancer research, One Mission’s Buzz Off for Kids with Cancer funds immediate relief initiatives that alleviate the relentless wrath cancer unleashes every single day. These programs include music and art therapy, sports outings, yoga, financial relief grants and festive holiday parties.
The 8th Annual Buzz Off for Kids with Cancer takes place on Sunday, June 4th, 2017, from 9am to 2pm at Gillette Stadium. All are welcome and encouraged to participate in this great community event to help kids with cancer.
About One Mission
One Mission is the kids’ cancer support foundation that puts the kids before the cancer by providing help, hope, and care to kids and families impacted by the disease. Rather than funding long-term solutions like cancer research, One Mission funds immediate relief initiatives that alleviate the relentless wrath cancer unleashes every single day while helping to bring happiness back into the kids’ world. One Mission’s programs and services lift the spirits of patients and their families, help the healing and recovery process, and make life more livable during treatment and hospitalization. One Mission was inspired by the founders, Ashley and Ari Haseotes’ own journey with pediatric cancer. For more information, please visit www.onemission.org.
