Watertown U.S. Army Veteran to Graduate from Wentworth Institute of Technology
Former U.S. Army Cavalry Scout will receive his bachelor's degree on Saturday.

Edward Winters, of Watertown, will receive his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Wentworth Institute of Technology on Saturday, Aug. 16 at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion.
Winters previously attended the Rochester Institute of Technology before enlisting in the U.S. Army. He left school shortly after the 9/11 attacks.
Winters spent six years serving in the U.S. Army as a Cavalry Scout. He was deployed twice to Iraq, serving as a driver, gunner, personal security detail and dismounted team leader during his 27 months of deployment. Winters was promoted to sergeant and served in supervisory roles during both combat deployments.

In addition to being a full-time student, Winters is working part-time with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), where he helped set up operational procedures for the new in-service oil analysis laboratory. He also spent a co-op at JC Cannistraro.
The Wentworth Institute of Technology’s Summer Commencement begins at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16.
