Woman Arrested After Attempting to Cash 2 Counterfeit Checks at a Watertown Bank

Officials at Rockland Trust had been alerted to the scam and called police.

A woman attempted to cash counterfeit checks at the bank on Main Street on July 20, but the bank had been alerted to the scam.

Bank officials called Watertown Police at 12:11 p.m. on July 20. Officers went to the bank after Shavon L. Scott, 25, of 31 St. Richards St. in Roxbury, allegedly attempted to cash two counterfeit business checks, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.

She tried to cash two checks, Lawn said, the first for $986.43 and a second for $1,256.41. The bank, however, did not cash them.
