Worcester
It'll be a big week for the Conservation Commission. Among many other items, the meeting set for Monday will include approvals for two big projects in Worcester: the renovation of the 300 Southbridge St. property — formerly The Bridge — into residences, and the demolition of the Piccadilly Plaza shopping center along Shrewsbury Street. The Conservation Commission is typically an early step in the process of development.
Marlborough
There will be a balloon test in Marlborough on Wednesday related to the proposed 276-unit apartment building in the French Hill neighborhood. During the test, balloons will float to the approximate height of the proposed building to show how it might affect the city's skyline. The test begins at 5 p.m. (rain date is Thursday at 5 p.m.).

Milford
A new coffee shop and roaster opening soon in Milford will go before the Select Board on Monday to get a common victualler license, a final step in any restaurant opening. Blooming Hearts Roastery & Cafe will be located at 206 East Main St. (Route 16).
Westborough
It'll be a good week to eat a burger. The Westborough High School National Honor Society will hold a fundraiser on Tuesday at MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes in Northborough. Find more details here.
Sudbury
Although it's been open for months, the Sudbury History Center and Museum held a long delayed grand opening ceremony over the weekend. The museum is now open six days a week showcasing centuries of local history.
Shrewsbury
Remember, Route 140 at I-290 will be closed down completely for up to two nights this week. But construction will be going on all week along the overpass near Boylston.
