WAYLAND, MA — Southbound traffic on Oak Street in Wayland will face weekday closures starting Thursday as crews begin utility work along the corridor.
Beginning May 21, Oak Street, Southbound, will be closed to through traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between Commonwealth Road and the Oak Street Bridge, according to the town. The closure will remain in place on weekdays until further notice, with the lane reopening each day at 3 p.m.
Northbound traffic will remain open throughout the project. The town said signs, barriers and traffic control personnel will be in place during the daily closure window to direct drivers safely through the area.
Drivers are being advised to use alternate routes during the weekday closure period. Local emergency access will be maintained at all times, and residents and businesses along the affected stretch will be notified separately.
The work is expected to continue on a rolling basis over the coming weeks, according to the town.
