WAYLAND, MA — A new cafe built around food, coffee, and inclusive employment is coming to Wayland Town Center.
Revival Cafe + Kitchen and The Guild for Human Services will partner on a community gathering space that is expected to serve scratch-made food and coffee while providing employment opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. An opening date has not been announced.
The Guild has signed a lease for 43 Andrew Ave., a storefront that has been vacant for more than a decade. The planned business is called The Guild Café by Revival.
The cafe builds on an existing partnership between the two organizations. The Guild's vocational services program lists Revival among its community-based work sites, where students can gain job experience with support from a job coach.
Revival Cafe + Kitchen currently operates locations in Cambridge, Somerville, Watertown, Boston, Lexington and Allston. The locally owned company was founded in 2016 by Liza Shirazi and Steve "Nookie" Postal.
Founded in 1952, The Guild for Human Services provides education, residential services and other support for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Wayland Town Center said additional opening updates and details about a planned giveaway will be announced later.
In addition to The Guild, Wayland Town Center also announced its plans to welcome New City Microcreamery and Mathnasium, while pursuing site improvements that could debut in 2027.
