Back To School: Wayland 2021-22 School Year Calendar

WAYLAND, MA — It may feel like the school year just ended, but back-to-school season is upon us with the first day of school just about a month away.

Wayland Public Schools has published the 2021-22 school year calendar to help parents prepare for the first day of school, plus events like days off and vacation dates.

The first day of school for Wayland students in grades 1 to 12 is Sept. 1, and school will end on June 16 if there are no snow days.

Here is the list of dates to know for the 2021-22 Wayland school year:

• Sept. 1 — First day of schools
• Sept. 6 — Labor Day, no school
• Sept. 7 — Rosh Hashanah, no school
• Sept. 16 — Yom Kippur, no school
• Oct. 11 — Indigenous Peoples’ Day, no school
• Nov. 11 — Veterans’ Day, no school
• Nov. 24 to 26 — Thanksgiving recess (early release/no lunch)
• Dec. 22 to 31 — Holiday season recess
• Jan. 17 — Martin Luther King Day, no school
• Feb. 18 — Winter recess (begins at close of normal school day)
• April 14 — Spring recess
• May 30 — Memorial Day, no school
• June 5 — Wayland High School graduation
• June 16 — Tentative last day for students (early release - no lunch)
• June 17 — Tentative last day for teachers (if no cancellations)
• June 23 — Last day for students (if five snow days used)
