Backpack Auction Winners Get Ride With Wayland Chief To School
A ride to school with the chief was among the many items in the annual Backpack Auction.

WAYLAND, MA—Chief Robert Irving made good on his delivering his auction item to the winners on Monday morning, giving those winners of the popular Backpack Auction a ride to school in a squad car.
A ride to the Loker School was one of the many prizes auctioned off in this annual Backpack Auction fundraiser for the Loker, Claypit hill and Happy Hollow schools.
Each February, students get a list of more than 200 items that are up for auction in their backpacks, with parents and guardians bidding on prizes that include not only a ride with the chief, but a special time with a favorite teacher, time at summer camp, classes, lessons, parties and family experiences.
