Get Rid Of Furniture, Electronics In Wayland At Recycling Event
The Saturday event will allow locals to unload unwanted items to benefit Habitat for Humanity.
WAYLAND, MA — A household recycling event held in Sudbury last weekend is now coming to Wayland. Residents will be able to pay $10 to dispose of items like old furniture and electronics, and items in good condition will be donated to Habitat for Humanity.

Residents of the town of Wayland are invited to attend a Recycling and Energy Drive brought to you by Mass Save, HouseHold Goods, Habitat for Humanity, National Grid, Eversource, Green Team Junk Removal, the town of Wayland, and State Representative Carmine Gentile’s office.

The event will take place Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wayland High School, 264 Old Connecticut Path. There is a $10 fee per car for residents bringing furniture and electronics for recycling. Furniture and electronics are donated to Habitat for Humanity and items which are not suitable for re-use are discarded. Residents can also turn in an old dehumidifier and receive $30 from Eversource. There is no fee for residents turning in a dehumidifier only. Mass Save will have a table at the drive to provide information on energy conservation for homeowners.
Furniture and electronics must be clean and usable. Couches, love seats, recliners, wood kitchen tables, kitchen chairs, end tables, dressers, bureaus, nightstands, and desks are accepted. PC monitors, CPUs, motherboards, hard drives, CD drives, power supplies, printers and faxes, cell phones, keyboards, gaming systems, amplifiers and routers are also accepted. Please note that TVs will not be accepted.
