WAYLAND, MA —The Massachusetts state primary is coming up on Sept. 1, but voters will have more voting options this year. Chiefly, that anyone in the state can cast an absentee ballot via mail.

Most local voters should have already received an application to receive a mail-in ballot. But if you haven't, you can visit the Secretary of State's website to download and application, which must be requested four days before the election.

The Wayland Town Clerk has a comprehensive guide on how to mail your ballot. You can also drop you ballot off at either the box outside Town Hall or the police department.

You can check your voting status on the Secretary of State's website, and find your polling place. If you missed the deadline to register to vote, you can still register for future elections. The last day to register to vote for the Sept. 1 primary is Saturday Aug. 22.
