Matthew Burns, Local Handyman, Dies At 55
Matthew Burns of Wayland and Marlborough, Massachusetts, passed away on September 21st, 2021 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Matthew Burns of Wayland and Marlborough, Massachusetts, passed away on September 21st, 2021 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born on February 24th,1966 in Astoria, NYC, to his parents Arthur and Patricia Burns. He grew up in Merrick, Long Island and worked as a HVAC technician and mechanic before he moved to Massachusetts in 2012. There, he established a handyman business which he continued until his diagnosis in 2020. He enjoyed spending time in nature, and loved the dogs in his life. He had an unrelenting passion for fixing and maintaining cars and was at his best sharing his knowledge with friends and family. He leaves behind his brothers Arthur and Michael Burns, his sister Kathleen Burns and her partner Laurie Santo, his sister Patrice Barton and brother-in-law Gene Barton, his nieces Sarah and Mary Emma Barton, and his nephews Gene and William Barton. He also leaves behind many cousins, friends and clients, and a loving support group at Emerson Hospital of Concord where he was treated and assisted by outstanding doctors, nurses, and social workers. A celebration of his life will be at St. Anne's-in-the-Fields in Lincoln, MA at 10am on Saturday, October 16th, 2021. The celebration will be followed by his burial in the Memorial Garden at St. Anne's-in-the-Fields.
