Hi Folks,
A quick update:
• This afternoon, 3/28, spent about 30 minutes on the approach to the Boden Lane Bridge, W. Natick, one of our worst littler hot spots (one of Natick's notorious "Dirty Two Dozen")
• nasty tangles of bittersweet and multiflora plus steep embankments make the "collections" a bit challenging. But the task only took about 30 minutes.
• plenty of booze containers (nip bottles, vodka, beer), single use coffee cups, chip bags, other plastics)...sad
• clear that people are hurting and they in turn hurt others and the earth with their trashing.
• how do we reach out to these folks? Where do we start?
• I remain convinced: w/ about 20 more volunteers we can put an end to it. Natick can become the first Trash-Free Community in the State. --Pat
