Natick and Wayland Receive MassDEP Grant

MassDEP has awarded Natick and Wayland with over $39,000 in grant funding for their Sustainable Materials Recovery Programs.

Boston – Representative David Linsky (D-Natick) announced today that the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) has awarded Natick and Wayland a combined total of $39,450 in grant funding from the Sustainable Materials Recovery Program grant program. Natick and Wayland are part of the many municipalities across the Commonwealth that participate in the Recycling Dividends Program. This grant provides money through this program for municipalities with policies and programs that are proven to maximize reuse, recycling, and waste reduction. Across all Recycling Dividends Program participants in the Commonwealth, $3,648,830.00 in funding was awarded this round.

“These funds provide capital to maintain and enhance the performance of waste reduction programs in our towns” said Representative Linsky. “I want to thank MassDEP for awarding the towns of Natick and Wayland with this grant that will help them continue the work of making our Commonwealth more sustainable.”

Funds will go to enhancing the performance of waste reduction programs, through spending on equipment, model programming, composting, outreach & education, and more.
