Wayland Mourns Loss Of Beloved Business Owner

Bob Lavin Sr., the owner of Lavin's Liquors since the early 1960s, has died.

WAYLAND, MA The Wayland community is remembering a longtime business owner in the town.

Bob Lavin Sr., the owner of Lavin's Liquors since the early 1960s, has died. The business on Old Connecticut Path shared the news in a social media post on Thursday, writing that Lavin had "passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family" a day earlier.

"Through the years, he built more than a business; he built lasting friendships and relationships with generations of loyal customers," Lavin's Liquors wrote. "His kindness, work ethic, and love for the people he served will be remembered always."

Lavin's Liquors invited family and friends to celebrate his life. There will be a wake on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Rd #2 in Wayland, and a funeral mass on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. George Catholic Church, 74 School St in Framingham.

"Thank you to everyone who has reached out with your love, prayers, and support," the business wrote. "Our family is deeply grateful during this difficult time, and we know Bob would have been touched by the kindness shown by this wonderful community."
