New Wayland Police Officer Sworn In After Academy Graduation
The Wayland Police Department formally welcomed a Framingham native to its ranks this week.
WAYLAND, MA — The Wayland Police Department formally welcomed a Framingham native to its ranks this week.
Officer Isaque Barcelone was sworn in before the Wayland Select Board on Tuesday at the Wayland Town Building on Tuesday. He graduated from the Randolph Police Academy in July and is about halfway through his field training with the Wayland Police Department, police said.
The department welcomed Barcelone in an announcement on Wednesday.
Barcelone was born and raised in Framingham and is bilingual in Portuguese.
The department said he values connecting with people from different backgrounds and having meaningful interactions with others both as an officer and in his personal life.
"We are excited for Off. Barcelone to be a valuable member of the Wayland Police Department," the department wrote in its announcement.
