Police Identify One Suspect in Attempted Carjacking, No One in Custody

A Framingham man was unharmed Wednesday afternoon when two men attempted to carjack him on Edgewood Road in the Cochituate area of Wayland.
Wayland police are investgating whether the suspects had a gun.
According to a press release, police responded to the area of Edgewood Road and Ridgewood Road Wednesday afternoon after receiving reports of a possible fight in progress. Officers located the victim who told them that two individuals had entered his vehicle, a red Ford Ranger truck, and attempted to carjack him.

When a fight broke out, the two suspects fled the vehicle and the area.

Police did find a small amount of marijuana at the scene, though whether the incident is drug-related remains under investigation.
Police have identified one of the two suspects and will seek an arrest warrant for him in the morning, according to Det. Sgt. Jamie Berger.
"The unidentified suspect is described as a younger white male, approximately 16-17 years old, 5’10”, thin build, dirty blonde hair, dark baseball cap and dark jacket," according to a police press release.
Police are continuing to investigate whether the suspects were known to the victim.
