Police Log: Stray Muskrat, OUI Arrests and Jumping Teens
(Aug. 22-27, 2012) The following information was supplied by the Wayland Joint Communications Center. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

- 21 Charena Road; Aug. 22, 10:32 p.m. - Following a noise complaint, police spoke with the resident and the gathering was ended.
- 177 Commonwealth Road; Aug. 23, 7:59 p.m. - A caller asked for an officer to assist after finding a muskrat (or a woodchuck?) in their engine compartment. The fire department was able to scare the animal away using a fire extinguisher.
- 86 Claypit Hill Road; Aug. 23, 8:08 p.m. - Caller reported teens jumping off the roof of Claypit Hill School. They were located and told to leave.
- 357 Commonwealth Road; Aug. 24, 8:51 a.m. - Arrest of Jose Alfaro, 40, of Pemberton Road in Wayland following a traffic stop. An officer observed Alfaro fail to stop for a stop sign and conducted a stop. It was then discovered that the operator's license had been suspended. He was charged with operating after suspension and failure to stop for a sign.
- 20 Parkridge Road; Aug. 24, 11 a.m. - Caller returned home after being gone for about 10 days and found the house had been broken into.
- 1 Cochituate Road; Aug. 25, 12:06 a.m. - Arrest of Giles Christenson, 35, of Shrewsbury. Police observed a vehicle make a u-turn and nearly hit another vehicle. The driver, Christenson, was subsequently placed under arrest for operating under the influence, operating to endanger and failure to stay in marked lanes.
- 17 Center Street, Aug. 25, 2:45 a.m. - Caller reported a possible rock thrown through her front window.
- 19 Main Street, Aug. 25, 10:09 a.m. - Robbery at Sunoco. Check out "."
- 59 Plain Road; Aug. 26, 9:35 p.m. - Arrest of Steven Augustine, 23, of New Bedford. An officer saw a speeding vehicle that wasn't staying within its lane and conducted a traffic stop. Augustine was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of liquor, speeding and a marked lanes violation.
