Should Walmart, Walgreens Stop Selling Tobacco?
A group of attorneys general wants to ban tobacco products from major retailers with pharmacies.
Attorneys general from 28 states want Walmart, Walgreens, and other major retailers to stop selling tobacco products.
The group wants the ban for stores with pharmacies.
"There is a contradiction in having these dangerous and devastating tobacco products on the shelves of a retail chain that services health care needs," the letter reads.
The group sent the letter to Walmart, Walgreens, Ride Aid, Kroger, and Safeway. It was signed by the attorneys general in New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, and Connecticut.
Mass. Attorney General Martha Coakley didn't sign the letter but agrees with the ban, according to the Boston Herald.
