Police found that Jason S. Suter, 18, of Sudbury, had crossed the solid double lines, driving his Subaru northbound, and directly into the path of that trailer, which was headed south.
Louis P. Carvelli of Waltham, the truck driver, laid on his horn and swerved off the road into the front yard of 88 Old Sudbury Road, said police.

A side-swipe collision occurred, said police, who added that “Carvelli’s evasive action likely prevented a head-on collision. There was extensive damage to both vehicles, as well as the front yard they landed in. Neither had injuries, and there were no passengers involved.
The truck sustained a ruptured fuel tank as a result of the crash and Clean Harbors responded to mitigate the effects of any fuel leakage into the ground, said police.
Suter was charged with Failure to Keep Right and Operating to Endanger.
