WATCH: Students Take a 'Ride' Through Wayland For School Project

This video project created by students captures the spirit and history of the town.

WAYLAND, MA — Get to know Wayland a little better.

When Arya Minaie came back with his girlfriend to her family in Wayland, they decided to film for a video editing class. Both are students at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT, and Minaie, a third year medical student, was taking a video editing class outside of the school as a "fun skill to learn."

Along with his girlfriend and Wayland native Rachel Massicotte, 23, and a graduate occupational therapy student, he produced a video that captures the beauty, history and vibe of this thriving MetroWest town. Take a "ride" through the streets - sometimes on a skateboard and sometimes in a car - to see animals, downtown, backroads and more.

"I’m a California native and love New England," said Minaie, "and thought that it would be a lot of fun to make our weekend trip to Wayland into a short homemade family video type of film and to show how gorgeous the town is. I guess, as you could tell from the video, the biggest challenge was actually filming the shots and framing as I didn’t really have any prior filming/video knowledge. I’m happy with the video, though, as it’s upbeat and shows how fun our weekend together was."
