Wayland Active Coronavirus Cases Reach New High
The 28 active coronavirus cases reported recently by Wayland is the highest dating back to the peak of the first wave in May.
WAYLAND, MA — The Wayland Board of Health's most recent coronavirus update shows an alarming rise in coronavirus: there were 28 active cases as of Dec. 4, the highest number dating back to the peak of the first wave last May.
That's a steep rise from the town's previous report on Nov. 27, when there were 4 active coronavirus cases in town. The high mark for Wayland came on May 15, when the Board of Health reported 46 active cases.
The rise in cases appears to be skewing younger. On Nov. 27, 32 people under age 29 had tested positive for the virus. The total jumped by 14 to 46 in the Dec. 4 report.
