Wayland Bertucci's Violates Liquor Laws
Wayland police conducted an undercover sting of 14 restaurants in town; only one failed.

Of 15 establishments targeted in an undercover compliance check, only one in Wayland failed to adhere to the liquor laws.
On Thursday, Aug. 20, the Wayland police conducted undercover alcohol compliance checks of local businesses/establishments that have a liquor license. As part of the check, two 20-year-olds were sent to the establishments and they tried to buy alcohol without showing IDs.
Bertucci’s Restaurant, 14 Elissa Ave., failed the compliance check and allowed the underage individuals to purchase alcohol, said police. Also, the restaurant had no designated manager on duty, did not keep a roster of certified servers on the premises and the servers at the restaurant were not certified to serve alcohol.

This establishment will be referred to the Board of Selectman for a Liquor Violation Hearing.
The Wayland Police Department regularly conducts compliance checks at local businesses in an effort to reduce the underage consumption of alcohol.
