Wayland Construction Update: Route 30 Intersections, Five Paths In Progress

The DPW updated Wayland on numerous road construction projects that are underway, and nearing completion.

WAYLAND, MA—Several projects are underway, in the process, or near completion on the streets and roads of Wayland, according to a recent update shared by the DPW.

Here's what the DPW reported on Aug. 18:

  • Road reclamation has been completed and the application of the binder coat of pavement of Old Connecticut Path East is underway and is scheduled to be completed by Saturday August 21, weather permitting. Construction will continue through the week of August 22, the manholes and catch basins will be raised in preparation of the application of the top-coat of pavement. Paving will take place during daytime hours – resident access will be maintained but the road will be closed to through traffic. Please anticipate delays, follow the direction of police officers on-site, and drive with caution.
  • The construction to permanently reconfigure the intersection of Route 30, East Plain Street, and School Street is well under way, and is scheduled to be completed within the next few weeks. At times, motorists may experience minor delays – please drive with caution and follow the direction of police officers on-site.
  • Upgrades to the intersection of Route 27 and Route 30 are currently beginning. This project is being completed by Newport Construction under the direction of MassDOT, and is scheduled to occur in phases over the next 18 months. Every effort will be made by the State to minimize traffic disruption, including performing work at night when needed. During this project, please anticipate delays and follow all construction signage as well as the direction of on-site police officers.
