Wayland Coronavirus Deaths At 19, Active Cases Drop

New cases numbers in Wayland show coronavirus has slowed from its peak in mid-May.

WAYLAND, MA — Wayland health officials on Monday released coronavirus data covering much of the month of June. And while cases have slowed down significantly, the town's death toll now stands at 19.

As of June 19, the town had recorded 106 total cases over the course of the pandemic, but there were only five active cases as of that date. That's down from the 11 active cases recorded on June 8. Four of the five active cases were hospitalized.

Of the total 106 cases, only 40 were in town residents. The remaining 66 were in people who worked in a long-term care facility.
