Wayland Coronavirus Update: Case Count Grows To 7

Meanwhile, 22 people from Wayland are in some state of quarantine, health officials say.

WAYLAND, MA — The number of cases of new coronavirus in Wayland grew by 75 percent between March 20 and March 27, town officials said in a recent update. The total number of cases in the town stood at 7 as of Friday.

The Wayland Board of Health is urging anyone with symptoms to call the town's COVID-19 hotline at 508-358-6805.

"All residents should evaluate their own health and determine if they are feeling mildly ill with a head cold, headache, sniffles, congestion, cough and/or experiencing any CDC identified symptoms of COVID-19, which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath," the town said in a weekly update on Friday. "COVID-19’s symptoms mimic the seasonal flu or a bad cold."

There are also five local facilities that are offering COVID-19 testing. Those include AFC Urgent Care in Marlborough and CareWell Urgent Care in Framingham. You can find a full list of local testing sites on the town's website.

The number of cases in Massachusetts stood at 4,955 as of Sunday night, including 48 deaths. Wayland reported its first COVID-19 case on March 11.
