WAYLAND, MA — The Wayland Select Board on Saturday will interview the three finalists for the open town manager job.

The selection of the three finalists comes after Wayland's last permanent town manager, Louise Miller, left the town in early 2022 for a job in Framingham city government. She was replaced by interim manager Stephen Crane, who left Wayland in September to become the town manager in Ipswich.

John Bugbee, who served as an assistant town manager under Miller and Crane, has been acting town manager since Crane left.

The three finalists for the job are:

  • Andrew MacLean, Pepperell Town Administrator
  • Beverli Marshall, General Manager of the Valley Sanitary District in Indio, Calif.
  • Michael McCall, Southbridge Town Manager

Wayland began searching for a new manager over the summer, forming a selection committee and hiring the firm GovHR to conduct a nationwide search. The town hopes to have the new manager in place by either February or March.
