Wayland High School Ranks In Top 5 In Greater Boston, According To Boston Magazine
The ranking compares public high schools within or partly within I-495 using the latest available state education data.
WAYLAND, MA — A school in Wayland has been named among the top five best public high schools in Greater Boston, according to a new ranking.
Wayland High School was ranked No. 4 in Boston Magazine's Top Public High Schools in Greater Boston for 2026. The school at 264 Old Connecticut Path serves students in grades 9 through 12.
The ranking compares public high schools in communities within or partly within I-495 using the latest available data from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Boston Magazine considered factors including MCAS and SAT scores, class sizes, student-to-teacher ratios, arts participation, digital literacy or computer science coursework and advanced-course participation.
Wayland High School currently has 792 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of 10.9 to 1, according to state education data.
The school also posted a 97.7 percent four-year graduation rate for the Class of 2025. Students took 605 Advanced Placement exams during the 2024-25 school year, with 96 percent of those exams receiving scores of 3 or higher.
This is not the first list Wayland High School has made this year. The school was ranked No. 14 in Massachusetts in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026-2027 Best High Schools. The report also ranked it No. 358 nationally.
