Wayland PD: 'State of Emergency' Message

The Police Department is issuing this message to residents, which includes parking ban info and more.

The information below, sent by the Wayland Police Deparment, will be delivered to all Wayland residents via a Swiftreach 911 phone notification Monday beginning at 5 p.m..:

The Governor has declared a state of emergency. He has also issued an emergency driving ban that goes into effect at midnight tonight. All unauthorized vehicles are to stay off of the roads so that the DPW can clean the roadways.

All Town meetings have been cancelled for this evening. The Town Building and the schools will all be closed tomorrow.

There is absolutely no on street parking allowed anywhere in town.
Pedestrians are also encouraged to stay off the roads. Visibility will be diminished due to the wind and blowing snow.

We ask that residents plan ahead for the upcoming storm. Top off your gas tanks, have a good flashlight and spare batteries, charge your cell phones.

If you have a power outage, report outages to N-Star on-line or call 800-592-2000.

If you use a generator, make sure that it is properly connected and that it is not inside your home.

At this time there is no plan to open the emergency shelter. If there is a long term power outage and the shelter is opened, a separate notification will be made.
