“We are proud to list many members of law enforcement as active partners in highway safety,” said Highway Safety Division Director Sheila Burgess. “Massachusetts can boast one of the lowest traffic fatality rates in the country, thanks to these many fine departments.”

MLEC awards were based on traffic safety activities such as internal policies, officer training, effective patrolling and public information projects during the 2011 calendar year.
