Wayland Votes On Marijuana Moratorium, Library Construction, Trails, Budgets: Town Meeting 2017
The pot law, reducing plastic bags, building athletic fields and more: How will you vote on April 2?

WAYLAND, MA - Wayland's annual town meeting is coming up and registered residents will be able to vote on major town issues included in 28 warrant articles. Here's a breakdown of some important subjects that will be covered at this year's meeting.
The meeting will begin on Sunday, April 2 starting at 1 p.m. at the Wayland High School Field House.
- Budget issues including: revolving fund bylaw, current fund transfers, the omnibus budget; town budgets including all departments, and many more.
- Article 9 is a vote on whether to invoke a moratorium on marijuana businesses in town
- To authorize voting rights for permanent alien residents in town
- Money for library construction
- Preserving historic buildings through demolition delays
- Funds to construct an athletic field at Oxbow Meadows
- Funds for trails and signs at Dudley Woods
- To institute a plastic bag reduction bylaw
- To sell or get rid of an old vehicle at the Fire Department, and 10 metal docks
