Weekly Question: What Does Semirural Mean to You?
The term comes up often, but what does it mean?

The future of Wayland has been on many minds during the past couple of weeks.
Residents voted on various topics impacting the town during the just-concluded 2012 Annual Town Meeting. We celebrated a groundbreaking at Wayland Town Center. We've talked about the need for more businesses in town in the midst of concerns about preserving green space.
At the middle of these conversations, the term "semirural" often comes up in the context of wanting to "preserve Wayland's semirural character."
But that description seems up-to-interpretation in terms of what it practically means. According to TheFreeDictionary.com, semirural means, "Having both rural and urban characteristics." Helpful, right?
At the end of the day, Wayland is your town, so what truly matters is what "semirural" means to you.
Is this as simple as X percent green space and X percent commercial development? What about housing -- How does that play into the semirural character?
