Whole Foods Market’s CEOs apologized Thursday for pricing issues at the company’s stores, a week after a New York investigation discovered that the company regularly overcharged customers for prepacked foods.
In a YouTube video, co-CEOs John Mackey and Walter Robb owned up to the mistakes.
“Straight up, we mad some mistakes,” Robb said, noting that the mistakes were both in the company’s and in customers’ favor.”It’s understandable sometimes mistakes are made, they’re inadvertent, they do happen.”
Whole Foods is located at 317 Boston Post Road in Wayland.
The company will increase training across the country and implementing a third-party auditing system.
The New York City Department of Community Affairs discovered that the popular grocery store chain routinely overcharged customers for prepackaged fruits, vegetables, and deli meats.
