
The 24th annual Literary Lights Dinner was presented by the Associates of the Boston Public Library on Sunday, April 15th, in the Grand Ballroom at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel. Six authors with local roots were honored; Amy Chua (Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother), Mary Higgins Clark (best selling suspense author of The Lost Years), Michael Korda (Hero: The Life and Legend of Lawrence of Arabia), Siddhartha Mukherjee (The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer), Stephen Prothero (God is Not One), and Isabel Wilkerson (The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration). The dinner’s keynote address was given by Newburyport author Andre Dubus III (Townies and House of Sand and Fog). The Associates of the Boston Public Library is an independent charitable organization dedicated to conserving and digitizing the Boston Public Library’s Special Collections of rare books, manuscripts, prints and drawings, musical scores and items of historical importance.
