Author Rose A. Doherty to discuss "Katharine Gibbs: Beyond White Gloves" at Waterstone

Waterstone at Wellesley will welcome author Rose A. Doherty for a discussion of her 2014 book "Katharine Gibbs: Beyond White Gloves" May 10.

Waterstone at Wellesley will welcome author Rose A. Doherty for a discussion of her 2014 book “Katharine Gibbs: Beyond White Gloves” on Tuesday, May 10 at 3 p.m. A book signing will follow the presentation, with copies available for purchase. “Beyond White Gloves” explores the life of Katharine Gibbs, who founded a secretarial school in 1911 where she educated women so they could support themselves. The school later became Gibbs College of Boston and is now Sanford-Brown College. Doherty, the author of the first book about Gibbs, is a former English faculty member and academic dean at Gibbs college. This event is free and open to the public, but an RSVP is requested at 781-235-1614. Waterstone is located at 27 Washington St., and includes 134 apartments for seniors 62 and older. It features independent and assisted living rental apartments.
