Babson College Welcomes New Students

Business school hosts orientation for families, first year students.

Babson College held its first year student orientation Friday, including talks with faculty, group trust exercises and a scavenger hunt.

At the Park Manor Lawn, groups of students gathered for trust-building exercises, tossing balls back and forth and learning about their fellow students. There are 490 people in this year's class of first year students, and about 1,150 undergraduate students altogether.

Deogratias Niyizonkiza, founder/vice president of Village Health Works and subject of Strength in What Remains by Tracy Kidder,  about his life growing up in Burundi, surviving a civil war and genocide before seeking a new life in America, will speak to students on Monday.
