Babson Students Offer Business Plans During Demo Day
Fifteen young entrepreneurs show their stuff at Olin Hall.

There are 600,000 new businesses starting each year, said Candice Sombrero, a recent Babson College grad, and her business, Nonphiction, aims to offer them marketing services.
Nonphiction marshals contract professionals in web design, graphic design and web development for its clients, providing savvy service with low overhead.
"Today, I'm here to present an investment opportunity to everybody in this room, said Sombrero, addressing the auidience at Olin Hall on Babson's campus. The room was packed, with all the seats taken and many people standing in the back.

She was one of 15 teams of Babson students and recent alums who have spent the last 10 weeks in Babson's Summer Venture Program. At 2 p.m. Thursday, they presented their business plans.
The pitch seemed to go over well with the audience, who were generous with their applause. "Good job," said one woman to Sombrero as she took her seat.
