From Bach to Beckett, From Landscapes to Law: North Hill Fall 2014 Courses and Events Schedule Released
The new schedule of True North Courses and Events has been released.

North Hill independent living community has announced its new schedule of True North Courses and Events, a series of lifelong learning opportunities for seniors throughout the Boston area.
“The fall term offers an array of engaging opportunities for area seniors to explore their passions from Ansel Adams, Beckett, Beethoven and Bach to the mid-term elections and more,” said Paul Duffy, vice president of marketing for North Hill. “It also includes celebrations marking our 30th year as Boston’s premier independent living community.”
The fall semester includes guest lecturers from the Museum of Fine Arts, the Middlesex County Court, Boston College Law School, and Babson College, as well as Australian Conductor Russell Ger, performances by the Boston Classical Orchestra, and an exhibit by Boston photographer Esther Pullman.

Many of the True North Courses and Events are free. A select few courses have a registration fee to cover project materials, food or as a contribution to the North Hill-Olin College Fund for Innovation in Aging.

· Tree Lit , with Edward Kelleher, who teaches English at Mass Bay Community College and North Hill resident Patricia Feddersen. 9/18/14 at the Town Green at North Hill. The class will be preceded by the planting and dedication of North Hill’s own sapling from the Isaac Newton apple tree, a gift from Babson College and Babson and North Hill Trustee Elizabeth Parker Powell, celebrating North Hill’s 30th year. Free.
· Boston Classical Orchestra with Music Director Steven Lipsitt. 9/22/14 at the North Hill Auditorium. Free.
· Common Ground: The Romance of Landscape for Adams, O’Keefe & Friends, with the Museum of Fine Arts’ Carol Troyen. 9/29/14 at North Hill. Free.
· Opening Reception: Greenhouse Home, photographs by Esther Pullman. 9/29/14 at The Art Gallery at North Hill. Free.
· Mozart & Schubert: A Natural Pairing, with Australian Conductor Russell Ger. 10/8/14 at North Hill. $10 course fee.
· The 2nd Annual Curtin Lecture on American Law with Kevin J. Curtin, Assistant District Attorney and Senior Appellate Counsel for Middlesex County, and Vincent D. Rougeau, Dean of Boston College Law School. 10/15/14 at North Hill. Free.
· The 2014 Mid-Terms: Why Should We Care , with political journalists Meredith Warren and Fred Van Magness and Bentley College Professor Girish J. “Jeff” Gulati. 10/20/14 at Wellesley College Club. $10 Course Fee.
· The Plays of Samuel Beckett, with Babson College Professor Beth Wynstra. 11/6/14 at North Hill. $10 Course Fee.
· Discover True North , a Celebration of the Opening of Vista Terrace, North Hill’s Enhanced Living Neighborhood, and the Expansion of Home Health Care by North Hill. 11/10/14 at North Hill. Free
