Behind the Scenes Business: Verivo Software

CEO of Verivo Software checks in with Wellesley Patch.

Wellesley resident Steven Levy, CEO of Verivo Software, e-mailed in a few answers to some questions Wednesday. Verivo had an official launch in Waltham Jan. 10.

Wellesley Patch: Can you describe what your company, Verivo Software, does exactly?

Steven Levy: Verivo Software is all about accelerating our customers’ business results. Using our software, customers can design apps five times faster, deploy apps simultaneously across multiple devices and manage and update apps in seconds. In short, we empower our customers so they can ‘own’ their mobile initiatives vs. relying on third party vendors.

WP: What big-name companies/apps has your company worked on?

SL: Verivo’s technology is used by hundreds of customers in various industries, around the world. Some of the companies that we work with include, International SOS, Thompson Reuters, Delloitte, Halliburton and Panda Express. As for apps, CSX, a leading transportation supplier, has built multiple apps on our platform. One of the apps allows their customers to track the current position and status of their shipments on CSX trains, from anywhere in the world. An insurance company, another Verivo client, created an app for branding purposes, to simplify communication between parents and teens, and encourage safe driving habits by reducing texting-while-driving.

WP: Wellesley is home to lots of business owners and CEOs. Can you talk a bit about the professional climate of Wellesley, MA? Maybe what drew you to the town to begin with, even if not a business interest?

SL: I’ve been connected to Wellesley for years. While at MIT, I took some courses at Wellesley College and became familiar with the town. After graduating, I was looking for a friendly town to live in, and Wellesley was an obvious choice. In 1988, my wife, Theresa, and I, moved into an apartment on Church Street – behind what was then the Coffee Connection.  Now we live in the College Heights area and have the best neighbors we could have hoped for.  So, yes, I have lived in Wellesley, long before I became a business owner – and we love living in this town.

WP: What's in the immediate pipeline for your company, now that you've launched?

SL: We are hard at work, expanding our business into Europe and growing our product development team. We are investing heavily in our product portfolio and looking to hire the best talent we can find to help design these breakthrough mobile products.

WP: Is there anything you would like to add?

SL: We are doing our part to support Massachusetts’ economy and are hiring aggressively.  We are looking for professionals in every area and many of those talented people live right here in Wellesley. So, please check us out at verivo.com and come join our team. I’d love to find someone to carpool with.
